NATIONAL PARKS CONTEST
Do you ever sit back and think, that sure was a great trip we took to Yellowstone or Yosemite National Parks or Fontainebleau or Lake Bisteneau State Parks? Tell us your story and you might win a 500-dollar gift certificate from the Backpacker in Baton Rouge and Lafayette in the Louisiana’s Natural Treasures Contest. It’s just part of the activities leading up to the premiere of Ken Burns’ new series The National Parks: America’s Best Idea on September 27.
There are two contests: The first is for young people up to the age of 16 and the other is for people 16 and older with the winner in each category getting a 500-dollar gift certificate. Just tell us your favorite park memory with an essay or a poem or drawing or any other media you may choose. If you send a picture, make sure it’s a jpeg, or you can send a video in Flash or Windows Media. If you are not entering through our website, please send a copy of your picture or video because they will not be returned.
