LPB is facing a budget cut of 18% by the Legislature, which includes funding that has helped offset the cost of Discovery Streaming. Licensing fees for the coming school year will be slightly increased to offset the loss of state support. The fee for the 2009-10 school year will be $600 per school with a $12,000 cap. Even with this modest increase, we hope you see the value in continuing to use LPB’s LearningPort in your classroom and that you will be one of the 36,000 Louisiana teachers who are registered users and who log in over 634,000 times a year. We hope to hear from you by completing the Letter of Commitment and faxing to LPB at 225-767-4299.
