Lesson Objectives:
The students will use a website
to gather information about a planet and its moons.
The students will work in small
groups to plan a slide show presentation using a Power Point Template.
The students will work in small
groups to create a sideshow for their assigned planet (must include the
planet’s moons).
The students will present their
shows to the class.
Technology Connection: Internet and Power Point
Assessment: The rubric
to assess the Power Point Slide Show and the teacher review of the Daily
Log Sheet.
Procedures:
1. Divide students into groups and assign each group a planet.
2. Using the Nine Planets web site, each group will research their planet
and its moons.

3. Each group will then use the Power Point template
to plan its slide show.
4. Groups will then use Power Point to create a slide show for its
assigned planet (must include moons).
5. Groups will then present their shows.
Extensions:
1. Have students develop a class rubric to use as they evaluate each
other's presentations.
2. Have students prepare a 10 question quiz about their own
presentation and have classmates take it following the presentation.
