I have been teaching for over 23
years, mostly in the middle school sciences. I am currently
teaching at St. Louis of King France Parochial School in Baton
Rouge. In the summer I work at LSU with the youth programs
and camps. I became a teacher so that I would not have to grow
up. I attend every workshop possible for 2 reasons: this is
my social life and to avoid housework. As a Key Leader in the
NSTA Building a Presence for Science Program, I am amazed and
gratified at the multitude of professional development opportunities
for teachers. Also, my membership in organizations such as
NSTA, LSTSA, LEEA, NCEA and others have given me a chance to
network with outstanding educators and scientists throughout
the country. I am continuing to seek more information since
I have recently been named to the NASA Solar System Ambassador
Program. My students already believe that I am not from this
planet!
I have been married to the same patient man for 35 years. We
have 3 children and one grandchild.
