TIME ALLOTMENT:
Four 50-minute class periods.

OVERVIEW:
The American Revolutionary War was won due to the efforts of not only The American Revolutionary War was won due to the efforts of not only brave military leaders and soldiers but also ordinary Americans who wanted to be free of the chains of British rule. The focus of this lesson is not only military heroes but the everyday American who fought valiantly for freedom.

SUBJECT MATTER:
Social Studies (American History)

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
The learner will:
• Locate and identify the original thirteen colonies;
• Locate the major battles of the American Revolutionary War;
• identify the major and minor contributors to the victory of the Americans during the American Revolutionary War.
