Cyberchase
is a daily animated adventure television series and multimedia project
for children ages 8-11, about a team of kids on daring missions
in Cyberspace. To save the day, our heroes have to use MATH and
BRAIN POWER. Cyberchase
helps kids discover that math is fun and something we experience,
not just in school, but all around us, everyday. The show helps
kids feel successfulthat they can be as good at math and problem
solving as the Cyberchase kids can. Math is everywhere. Math is
about solving problems. Math is fun. And boy, does it come in handy!
CYBERCHASE has recently launched a special online survey for parents. We want to find out how the show is impacting your family.
When the survey is completed, you'll receive a special thank you from CYBERCHASE - a 10% discount at FlyingMinds.com, the online store for great CYBERCHASE products and more cool stuff for clever kids.

Workshops Louisiana
Public Broadcasting teamed up with the Louisiana
Association of Teachers of Math to provide Math Workshops
for children between the ages of eight and 11 and their parents.
During the two-hour workshops, students and parents participated
in a variety of activities that will focus on the popular PBS
series Cyberchase that
airs Sundays at 8AM on LPB. Workshop participants each received
a set of math and measuring tools including calculators, protractors,
and rulers. Parents learned how to work with their children
and received a copy of the US
Department of Educations Helping Your Child Learn
Math. A parent had to be in attendence for the child to participate.
Workshops were partially funded by the National Center For
Outreach.
