LPB TURNS OFF ANALOG FRIDAY, JUNE 12, 7:00AM CT

LPB is now all-digital.  If you are having trouble receiving our signal, call your cable or satellite provider.  If you watch with an antenna, you will need to re-scan your digital television or DTV converter box.

If you have questions about the shutoff, LPB has a special phone bank operatingFriday, June 12 starting at 7:00AM. On Saturday, June 13, the phone bank operates from 9:00AM until 8:30PM. The number to call is 888-769-5000.

CHANNEL CHANGES IN SHREVEPORT AND MONROE AREAS

Cable and satellite viewers should not have noticed any change after the analog shutoff but over the air viewers who use an antenna to receive their television signal now have to have a TV with a digital tuner or a converter box for their analog signal to receive the digital signal.

In Shreveport, LPB has changed its digital channel from Channel 25 to 24 and is boosting its power. Our signal in Shreveport should be on by 2:00 Friday afternoon. Viewers need to rescan their converter boxes or the digital tuners on their TVs to get the new LPB channel.

In Monroe, LPB has changing its digital channel number from 19 to 13. The power is boosted so people who have been unable to receive the LPB should rescan their digital converter boxes and digital TV tuners to get the new channel.

Final Day of Analog Broadcast June 12, 2009

Viewers can receive LPB’s three digital channels (LPB1, LPB2 and LPB3) free of charge by attaching their digital television to an antenna or by using a DTV converter box hooked up to an older, analog set.

Viewers can receive up to two $40 coupons to help purchase a converter box. The deadline for applying for coupons is July 31, 2009 and people with expired coupons may now reapply. Coupons are not required to buy a DTV converter box. If you have questions, call LPB at 1-800-272-8161, ext. 4276.

Learn why you must rescan regularly:

After hooking up a converter box to your TV set, or installing a new digital television, you will need to scan for new channels to ensure you receive all of the digital stations broadcasting in your area. While some boxes do this automatically, you may need to select scan manually.

Since some digital stations are still coming on air, you may want to consider rescanning on a periodic basis to get all of the digital programming available.

Because some digital stations that are already on air are moving to different channel numbers at the end of DTV transition, you may need to rescan again after February 17, 2009 to ensure that you receive all of the digital stations broadcasting in your area.
